About the Opportunity
Our education staffing agency is seeking compassionate, dedicated, and student-centered Special Education Teachers to support students with diverse learning needs across K-12 educational settings. We partner with school districts to place exceptional educators in a variety of special education programs, including inclusion, resource, self-contained, and specialized support classrooms.
The ideal candidate is committed to creating an inclusive learning environment, implementing individualized instruction, and helping students achieve academic, social, emotional, and behavioral success.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and objectives.
- Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and teaching methods to meet diverse student needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families to support student success.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation and compliance records.
- Implement accommodations, modifications, and evidence-based intervention strategies.
- Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Support students' academic, behavioral, social, and functional skill development.
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and district special education requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Exceptional Children Education, or a related field.
- Valid South Carolina teaching license/certification in Special Education or Exceptional Children.
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and IEP processes.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary educational team.
- Commitment to supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in inclusion, resource, self-contained, or specialized instructional settings.
- Familiarity with differentiated instruction and data-driven decision-making.
- Experience supporting students with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, emotional/behavioral disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and other exceptionalities.
- Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies and positive behavioral supports.
- Experience utilizing educational technology and progress-monitoring tools.
