Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid California Education Specialist credential suitable for ESN (Extensive Support Needs) caseloads required
- Previous experience working with students with autism, intellectual disabilities, Down syndrome, and similar needs is highly valued
- Proficiency in virtual teaching platforms and adaptive instructional strategies
- Strong organizational and communication skills to engage students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to individualized, student-centered approaches and equitable learning access
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for diverse ESN caseloads
- Deliver instruction in core academic and functional skills, using evidence-based and adaptive methods
- Collaborate with general education staff, therapists, and administrators to support holistic student success
- Maintain clear and ongoing communication with families and caregivers
- Attend IEP meetings, participate in team planning, and document student progress
- Balance a primarily remote teaching schedule with occasional in-person student sessions at the designated learning center
