As a Special Education Teacher, you will:
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Hold a valid Special Education teaching credential
- Experience working with K-12 students, adapting lessons across a range of grade levels
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with students, families, and educational teams
- Ability to develop and execute Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Demonstrated skill in creating inclusive classroom environments
- Knowledge of current special education laws and best practices
Key Responsibilities:
- Adapt curriculum and instruction to accommodate a variety of learning styles and abilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain IEPs in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines
- Partner with general education teachers to support student inclusion
- Foster a positive, supportive, and safe classroom atmosphere
- Collect and analyze data to monitor student progress toward IEP goals
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student development
