This rewarding opportunity is available at a secondary school near Muncie, IN, covering the 2026-2027 academic year (8/3/2026 through 6/7/2027). You'll be supporting a Life Skills classroom with approximately 10 students and collaborating closely with school staff to foster an inclusive, positive learning environment.
Key Details:
- Full-time contract – 35 hours per week
- Schedule: 7:20 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday
- Life Skills classroom setting at the high school level
- On-site role only
Key Qualifications:
- Active Indiana Teaching License required (please provide a screenshot for verification)
- Experience as a Special Education Teacher, particularly with Life Skills or similar functional academic programs, is highly desirable
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
- Commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive classroom
- Comfortable working extensively with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to support life skills development
- Monitor and document student progress toward academic and functional goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers
- Communicate proactively with families and staff regarding student progress and needs
- Foster a positive, respectful classroom culture where all learners can thrive
