Qualifications & Experience:
- Active 461 Tennessee special education teaching license required
- Experience working in a K-2 classroom setting or similar early elementary environment
- Proven ability to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong classroom management skills with a caring, patient, and adaptive approach
- Excellent communication skills with students, families, and educational teams
- Understanding of age-appropriate instructional strategies and positive behavior supports
Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to K-2nd grade students in a self-contained classroom
- Develop, execute, and monitor IEPs in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Assess students’ progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Work collaboratively with paraprofessionals, therapists, and related service providers
- Engage and communicate regularly with parents and guardians
- Foster a supportive learning environment that promotes inclusion, safety, and growth
