What we're seeking:
- Valid 461 Tennessee Special Education teaching license (required)
- Prior experience with K-2 or primary elementary special education preferred
- Strong classroom management and lesson planning skills
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Commitment to the social, emotional, and academic growth of each student
Key responsibilities:
- Create and deliver effective lessons based on students’ IEP goals
- Adapt curriculum and instructional techniques to meet diverse learning styles
- Foster a positive, structured, and supportive classroom atmosphere
- Work closely with related service providers, families, and other staff
- Track progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings
- Support social and behavioral development through evidence-based strategies
- Engage students with innovative, age-appropriate activities and resources
