You’ll work in structured classrooms designed for students ages 5–22 with a diverse range of abilities and needs—from foundational learning and behavior regulation with younger students to job readiness and independent living skills with older students. Desired Qualifications:
- Valid special education teaching certification; certification for Moderate/Severe highly sought after (especially for high school roles)
- Prior experience working with students with disabilities such as autism, emotional/behavioral challenges, or developmental/learning disabilities
- Understanding of structured teaching strategies and individualized instruction
- Strong classroom management and a passion for supporting diverse learners
- Ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals and related service staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored instruction in academics, social skills, emotional regulation, or job/life skills depending on classroom assignment
- Maintain a highly-supportive and structured classroom environment
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Guide students in classroom routines and peer relationships
- Support students’ progress toward greater independence at each stage
