The classroom is well-staffed with one teacher and two assistants, supporting a caseload of 18–20 preschoolers in two half-day classes (four student days each week).
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching License: Mild/Moderate K–12 or Moderate/Severe (accepted).
- Experience or strong interest in working with preschool-aged children.
- Ability to manage and inspire a cross-categorical group of students with diverse needs.
- Strong communication skills and an inclusive, team-oriented approach.
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead a self-contained classroom, creating and delivering engaging, individualized lesson plans.
- Work closely with classroom assistants to ensure every student receives the support they need.
- Foster an inclusive environment where all students feel valued and empowered.
- Monitor student progress, adapt instruction as necessary, and collaborate with families and interdisciplinary staff.
- Uphold standards for safety, care, and professionalism at all times.
