Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a school-based contract role near Peoria, AZ. This position begins as soon as possible and continues through May 21, 2027, offering a stable, full-time schedule of 37.5 hours weekly across five days. You’ll be instrumental in helping young learners reach their potential in both K–3 and 4–6 grade bands.
You’ll work in a dynamic, supportive environment where every day brings the opportunity to make a lasting impact. Positions are available for Resource settings (two openings), with priority given to immediate hires. Your expertise will be valued as you employ both inclusion and pull-out support models, serving a caseload of up to 30 students.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Arizona teaching credential with a Mild/Moderate K–12 endorsement (Moderate/Severe also accepted)
- Experience working with elementary age groups or in a resource setting preferred
- Strong skills in differentiating instruction within both individual and group settings
- Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, families, and support staff
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities
Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction utilizing inclusion and pull-out support strategies
- Design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Track and report student progress toward IEP goals
- Modify curriculum and classroom activities to meet diverse student needs
- Foster positive and productive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
