Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Louisiana Educator Certificate is required (SPED Educator Certificate preferred; candidates with Elementary 1-5 Certificate will be considered)
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in a special education setting
- Strong classroom management and behavioral intervention skills
- Commitment to accommodating diverse learning needs and IEP implementation
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small-group instruction within a self-contained classroom
- Develop, implement, and document IEPs for students in close partnership with families, related service providers, and admin staff
- Adapt instructional strategies to meet varied learning styles and abilities
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured environment conducive to student growth and safety
- Communicate regularly with faculty and parents to ensure continuity of care and instruction
