Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification
- Experience working with elementary-aged students, especially in K-3 settings
- Background supporting students with autism and/or non-verbal communication needs
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Adaptability and creativity in lesson planning and classroom management
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver tailored instruction for students with diverse learning needs
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and school staff
- Create and implement IEPs, ensuring each student’s unique goals are met
- Employ evidence-based strategies to support communication and social development
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
- Foster a positive, supportive atmosphere that encourages student engagement and growth
- Communicate regularly with families to ensure consistency and support beyond the classroom
