Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education (Early Childhood focus preferred)
- Experience working with children ages 3-5 with diverse learning needs
- Strong ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Knowledge of current best practices in early childhood special education
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills for engaging with families and staff
- Adaptability and problem-solving skills to meet evolving student needs
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction in both individual and small group settings, targeting developmental and academic goals
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Collaborate with related service providers, general education teachers, and families
- Document progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings
- Foster a positive, nurturing classroom environment that encourages peer interaction and growth
- Stay current with developments in special education and early childhood practices
