Special Education Teacher | Shakopee, Minnesota

This opportunity is ideal for a dedicated Special Education Teacher ready to support diverse learners in a collaborative, inclusive environment. With varying school sites, you’ll either enjoy an early start at the middle school level, working approximately 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, or a flexible schedule at elementary schools between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM, depending on specific start times.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching license
- Previous experience in special education settings strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP process and implementation
- Ability to differentiate instruction for individual student needs
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Proficient with classroom technology and record-keeping software
- Up-to-date knowledge of best practices and compliance standards
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in collaboration with staff and families
- Adapt and deliver instruction to meet the learning and behavioral needs of each student
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers
- Communicate regularly with families on student progress and support strategies
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to growth
- Participate in professional development and team meetings
