Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility) for elementary grades
- Experience supporting students with autism and behavioral challenges, preferably in a self-contained or similar setting
- Strong skills in collaborative problem-solving and communication
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Compassion, patience, and a commitment to positive behavior intervention
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and behavioral supports to students in a small-group setting
- Supervise, collaborate with, and provide guidance to five paraprofessionals, each dedicated to a student
- Monitor progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate regularly with families and team members
- Foster an inclusive classroom that supports varying communication and sensory needs
- Partner with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care and learning
