Step into an impactful role supporting elementary-aged students as a Special Education Resource Teacher for grades K-5. This full-time, contract opportunity begins on approximately August 31, 2026, and runs through June 4, 2027, offering the chance to make a real difference in the lives of children at Columbus Elementary. Qualifications & Experience
- Current Minnesota teaching license with special education dual certification (attach both resume and PDF of license with application)
- Previous experience or strong interest in working with students in K-5 as a resource teacher
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and documentation
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
- Collaborative mindset for working with general education teachers, support staff, administration, and families
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct instructional and resource support for students with diverse learning needs in grades K-5
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to meet each student’s needs
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with state and federal guidelines
- Collaborate with teams to modify curriculum and utilize evidence-based interventions
- Communicate regularly with families, sharing progress and partnering in student growth
- Assist in creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners
