Special Education Teacher - Denver, Colorado
Bring your expertise as a Special Education Teacher to the North Denver area and make a lasting difference in the lives of students with diverse learning needs. Multiple full-time roles are available for the 2026-2027 school year across several elementary and high school campuses. These positions are center-based, supporting students with significant autism, emotional dysregulation, and communication challenges—many of whom are non-verbal and use AAC devices.
Your placement will be tailored to your strengths and preferences, with opportunities at a variety of schools and age groups, including K-2nd grade classrooms and high school environments. Each classroom benefits from support staff and collaboration with specialized service providers.
Qualifications:
- Current Colorado Department of Education Special Education certification/endorsement required
- Experience working with students with significant autism experience, including supporting non-verbal children
- AAC device experience preferred
- Strong skills in de-escalation, data-driven instruction, and supporting students with emotional and behavioral challenges
- Ability to collaborate with fellow educators, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
- Capability to lead and mentor adult staff in a team-oriented environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized learning plans for students with significant support needs or structured learning requirements
- Implement strategies to build life skills and facilitate successful school integration for elementary students
- Utilize data-driven systems to monitor progress and adapt instructional approaches
- Foster a safe, structured classroom climate that supports emotional regulation and positive behavior
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, co-teachers, and specialist staff for comprehensive student support
