Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Additional certification in Significant Intellectual Impairments is required
- Experience providing academic support to students with complex learning needs and/or significant intellectual disabilities
- Prior work with homebound or medically fragile students is a strong advantage
- Collaborative spirit and excellent communication abilities
- Commitment through the EOSY is essential
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement customized lesson plans that address the unique educational goals of an individual student with significant intellectual challenges
- Deliver direct instruction and monitor student progress in a homebound setting
- Coordinate with medical providers, family members, and school district staff to ensure educational continuity and holistic support
- Adapt content and delivery methods to meet the student’s abilities and needs
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, progress reports, and comply with IEP goals
- Attend meetings and collaborate with stakeholders to advocate for the student’s ongoing educational growth
