Special Education Teacher - Andover, Minnesota

Make a real difference in the lives of elementary students by providing specialized instruction and support as an onsite Special Education Teacher focused on Developmental and Cognitive Delay (DCD). This rewarding contract assignment, based at a collaborative elementary environment in Brooklyn Center, MN, involves delivering high-impact services to students in a DCD Centerbase program. You’ll work closely with a passionate team of educators to foster growth, independence, and confidence in every child you teach.
Qualifications:
- Active Minnesota Teaching Certification (Tier 3 or 4 required; must be attached with application)
- Experience or training related to Developmental and Cognitive Delay (DCD) programs preferred
- Proven ability to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Commitment to building an inclusive, supportive classroom culture
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with staff, students, and families
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to elementary students with developmental and cognitive delays in a centerbased setting
- Design and adapt curriculum to meet students’ unique learning needs
- Develop and implement effective IEPs in partnership with related service providers
- Collect progress data and adjust instruction based on student goals
- Communicate clearly with parents, caregivers, and team members about student growth and needs
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and collaborative planning sessions
