Embark on a rewarding contract assignment supporting elementary students with developmental and cognitive delays in a specialized center-based classroom setting. This fulfilling role is based in the greater Maple Grove, MN area, with a daily schedule matching a typical school calendar. As an onsite special education teacher, you will play an essential role in fostering student growth and creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Minnesota Teaching Certification (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required)
- Experience supporting students with developmental and cognitive delays (DCD), preferably in a center-based or specialized educational setting
- Ability to design individualized educational plans (IEPs) and implement evidence-based instructional strategies
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary team members
- Commitment to maintaining thorough documentation and upholding the highest standards of practice
- Passion for creating a positive, engaging classroom experience for elementary-aged learners
Role Responsibilities:
- Instruct and support elementary students in a center-based program focused on DCD
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized lesson plans based on IEP goals
- Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and families to ensure holistic student progress
- Use adaptive curriculum and materials to meet diverse learning needs
- Document student progress, adapt strategies as needed, and participate in IEP meetings
- Foster a safe, respectful, and motivating classroom environment every day
