Work on a contract basis with a dynamic elementary caseload focused on students with developmental and cognitive delays. This onsite role is based at Evergreen Park Elementary, serving as a vital resource and advocate for young learners needing specialized support.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Current Minnesota teaching certification required (Tier 3 or Tier 4); must attach certification and resume at application
- Proven experience or coursework related to special education, particularly with developmental and cognitive delay (DCD) populations
- Strong collaboration skills to engage with multi-disciplinary teams and families
- Excellent communication and organization abilities
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and positive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small group instruction for elementary students within the DCD Centerbase program
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each child’s unique needs and learning objectives
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and accommodations
- Coordinate with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and specialist staff to deliver cohesive educational support
- Engage families as partners in their child’s educational journey, conducting meetings and regular communication
- Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development through adaptive strategies and positive behavior interventions
This contract position begins August 26, 2026, and concludes approximately June 10, 2027, working full-time hours (37.5 per week), Monday through Friday.
