Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Minnesota Tier 3 or Tier 4 Teaching Certification (required; must be submitted with resume)
- Proven experience with elementary special education, particularly Developmental and Cognitive Delay (DCD) populations
- Deep understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
- Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills
- Ability to effectively collaborate with paraeducators, specialists, families, and other team members
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with DCD in a center-based elementary setting
- Assess students’ needs and progress, develop and implement IEPs, and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines
- Engage with families and related service providers to support student growth
- Cultivate a positive, respectful classroom that encourages student independence and success
- Collaborate with school colleagues on interventions, support plans, and best practices
