This contract opportunity spans the entire school year, covering two distinct leaves—providing valuable continuity and support for both 2nd and 3rd graders in the fall, and middle school students in the spring. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalized, high-quality instruction in Special Day Classrooms, adapting to individual education plans (IEPs).
- Support 2nd & 3rd grade students (6 students) from September through December, with an 8:00 AM start.
- Provide educational support to a middle school class (7 students) from January through the end of the school year, starting at 8:10 AM.
- Collaborate with educational staff, families, and service providers to create a supportive, inclusive learning atmosphere.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and participate actively in IEP meetings.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Extensive Support Needs (Moderate-Severe) teaching credential.
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher working with moderate-severe populations, especially in elementary and/or middle school settings.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and develop individualized strategies for student success.
