You'll be covering two consecutive leaves in Special Day Classrooms, ensuring continuity and high-quality instruction for students from the beginning of the school year through the end. Key Qualifications:
- Valid Extensive Support Needs or Moderate-Severe Special Education Teaching Credential.
- Experience working with elementary and/or middle school students in a special education setting.
- Strong classroom management and differentiated instruction skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Teach and support students in dedicated Special Day Classrooms.
- Fall semester: Guide a small group of 2nd and 3rd graders (6 students), providing individualized academic and behavioral support. Start time: 8:00am.
- Spring semester: Support a group of middle school students (7 students), adapting instruction to meet their unique needs. Start time: 8:10am.
- Develop and implement IEPs and individualized lesson plans.
- Maintain ongoing communication with families, teachers, and support staff.
- Foster a positive, supportive classroom community for each student’s academic and social growth.
