ProCare Therapy Schools - Special Education Teacher Contract Today Apply

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting young learners with extensive support needs for the full school year. This role consists of covering two leaves, split between the fall and spring semesters, across special day classrooms. You’ll begin in the fall working with a small group of 2nd and 3rd grade students, then transition in the spring to assist middle school-aged students.

This full-time position requires 7.5-hour workdays, with start times at 8:00 AM during the fall and 8:10 AM in the spring. You’ll collaborate with a dedicated school team, implement individualized education plans, and provide a stable, positive classroom environment for students with moderate to severe needs.

Qualifications & Required Experience

  • Current Extensive Support Needs Credential (required)
  • Background in teaching students with moderate to severe disabilities
  • Comfort managing and adapting strategies for small groups (6-7 students)
  • Experience delivering instruction in special day class settings
  • Strong skills in collaborating with aides, therapists, and families
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom culture

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement, monitor, and revise IEPs in coordination with support staff
  • Adapt materials and lessons to meet individual student needs
  • Manage classroom routines, behavior plans, and group activities
  • Maintain clear, compassionate communication with families and colleagues
  • Collect data and track student progress toward goals
  • Transition smoothly between elementary and middle school classrooms as needed
