Make a difference in the lives of elementary students as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract position is based in a supportive educational environment near Buda, TX, serving a small class of five EC-6 students in a Foundational Learning/Life Skills setting. Working Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM – 3:30 PM, you’ll focus on creating a positive learning experience while providing both academic and functional support to students with varying needs.
Qualifications:
- Valid Texas Educator License with Special Education certification.
- Experience participating in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings; comfortable contributing insights and observations.
- Strong background working with foundational/life skills curriculum for EC-6 learners.
- Commitment to upholding professional standards, including following prescribed dress code (no visible tattoos, professional attire, reserved piercings, and natural hair color).
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to students in foundational learning/life skills, adapting strategies to support a range of academic and functional needs.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), progress monitoring, and collaborate with related service providers.
- Participate actively in ARD meetings, advocating for student needs and ensuring compliance with state and federal special education policies.
- Foster an inclusive, equitable classroom environment that encourages student engagement and growth.
- Regularly communicate with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure student progress and well-being.
