Special Education Teacher - Del Valle, Texas
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher, serving foundational learners in a small, supportive classroom setting during the 2026-2027 school year. You’ll work Monday through Friday from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM, guiding students in EC-6 toward meaningful functional and life skill development. The classroom consists of just five students, two of whom require additional functional support, enabling you to make a significant impact through individualized attention.
The ideal candidate brings expertise in delivering foundational curricula, strong behavioral management skills, and proficiency in Texas special education regulations. Prior Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) committee experience is essential, as you will actively participate and contribute to these meetings while communicating effectively with families and colleagues.
Requirements and Desired Experience:
- Current Texas Educator License with Special Education credentials
- Demonstrated experience in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) committees
- Ability to craft and implement individualized education plans emphasizing life and functional skills
- Commitment to upholding professional dress code and appearance policies (covering tattoos, single color hair, professional attire, and minimal piercings)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, staff, and parents
