Middle School Special Education Teacher – Dyslexia & Reading Intervention
Self-Contained Classroom | Small Group of 8 | Full-Time | January 4 – May 27, 2027
Ready to help middle schoolers unlock reading? We’re looking for a Special Education Teacher who can turn “I can’t” into “I got this” in a focused, self-contained classroom.
The Role
When: Full second semester (Jan 4 – May 27, 2027)
Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Setting: Middle school self-contained classroom
Students: Small group of about 8
Focus: Dyslexia support and targeted reading intervention
You’ll deliver specialized instruction, build confidence one win at a time, implement IEPs, and create a structured space where students actually want to tackle reading challenges. Think small-group magic, not crowded chaos.
What We’re Looking For
- Valid special education teacher certification (middle school or appropriate endorsement)
- Dyslexia and/or reading intervention experience or certification preferred — but not required
- District provides free training if you need it, so passion matters more than perfect paperwork on day one
- Strong classroom management and a knack for making reading feel doable
- Someone who celebrates small victories and keeps energy high
