Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (required)
- Previous experience working with diverse learners, including medically fragile and/or nonverbal students
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support staff
- Compassion, creativity, and adaptability in lesson planning and classroom management
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction tailored to each student’s needs and abilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with families and school teams
- Foster a safe, nurturing classroom culture where all learners feel valued and supported
- Utilize appropriate augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) methods with nonverbal students
- Collaborate closely with nurses, therapists, and paraprofessionals for holistic support of medically fragile students
- Maintain accurate records and progress reports as required by school policies
