Special Education Teacher - Round Lake, IL
Step into a meaningful educational role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher at a single school site in the Round Lake, IL area. This full-time opportunity encompasses 37.5 hours per week and spans the entirety of the 2026/2027 academic year, starting August 19th and concluding June 4th, 2027. Work directly onsite, collaborating closely with other dedicated educators while providing personalized instruction and support.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active, valid LBS-1 Certification for Special Education
- Experience working in self-inclusion or similar classroom settings is highly valued
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support for a caseload of 10 students in a self-inclusion classroom
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver comprehensive educational experiences
- Develop, monitor, and revise IEPs in partnership with students, families, and colleagues
- Engage regularly with families, updating on student progress and goals
- Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages student engagement and growth
