Special Education Teacher - Cicero, Illinois

You will be working with a diverse student body, specifically in 9th and 10th grades with medically fragile students, and in a K/1 classroom with primarily nonverbal learners. Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- State certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain)
- Demonstrated experience working with medically fragile and/or nonverbal children preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Superb communication skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Empathy, flexibility, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful classroom
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute individualized lesson plans tailored to each student’s unique learning and medical needs

- Maintain accurate documentation regarding student progress and care requirements
- Advocate for student needs during IEP meetings and communicate regularly with families
