Special Education Teacher - Columbus, Ohio
Exciting contract opportunities are available for experienced Special Education professionals who thrive in high-impact roles supporting high school students with diverse needs. Located just east of Columbus, these full-time positions offer meaningful work in a forward-thinking district setting.
Openings include:
- 1 Intervention Specialist specializing in behavioral support (BFLIC). These classes host up to 12 students, each supported by a dedicated paraprofessional.
- 2 Intervention Specialists for classrooms serving students with multiple disabilities (MDLIC). Each class caps at 8 students and is supported by two paraprofessionals per room.
- 1 Cross-Categorical Special Education Teacher, working with students across a variety of learning needs.
All roles are full-time (40 hours per week) and begin as soon as possible, continuing through May 28th.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification for Ohio.
- Previous experience in behavioral, multiple disabilities, or cross-categorical classrooms is highly valued.
- Strong skills in developing and implementing IEPs and individualized behavioral plans.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals, general education staff, and families.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment and advocating for students’ unique needs.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational setting.
Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver differentiated instruction and individualized support in accordance with IEP goals.
- Maintain accurate records and provide ongoing progress updates.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student growth in academic, behavioral, and functional areas.
- Foster a positive classroom culture and support paraprofessionals to maximize student success.
- Participate in professional development sessions as needed.
