Four full-time Intervention Specialists are needed for high school settings, filling crucial roles that support a range of student needs. These contract-based positions extend through May 28th and offer a collaborative, supportive environment along with competitive weekly compensation.
Openings include:
- 1 Behavioral Learning Intervention Classroom (BFLIC): Serve in a behavioral unit setting with classes capped at 12 students, supported by a dedicated paraprofessional.
- 2 Multiple Disabilities Learning Intervention Classrooms (MDLIC): Teach in classrooms designed for students with multiple disabilities, each capped at 8 students and staffed with two paraprofessionals.
- 1 Cross-Categorical Special Education Teacher: Support students across a variety of classifications, working within a flexible and inclusive framework.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility) for high school in Ohio.
- Previous experience in behavioral, multiple disabilities, or cross-categorical classrooms preferred.
- Strong classroom management skills and a compassionate approach.
- Ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals, related services staff, and general education teachers.
- Excellent communication skills for effective family and team collaboration.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to address unique learning, behavioral, and developmental needs.
- Foster a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and growth.
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Track and document student progress, working closely with team members to modify supports as necessary.
- Engage with parents, guardians, and staff to create a cohesive educational experience.
