Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Rhode Island RIDE certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
- At least two years of relevant teaching experience preferred
- Prior school-based special education experience strongly preferred
- Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply
- Must fulfill all state and school requirements for providing special education services
Role Highlights & Responsibilities:
- Teach and support students with IEPs, 504 plans, and other learning needs using rigorous, standards-aligned small-group and in-class instruction
- Collaborate and co-plan with general education teachers to ensure inclusive, effective instruction
- Implement accommodations, modifications, and IEP goals; actively progress-monitor and document student growth
- Conduct, facilitate, and participate in IEP meetings
- Maintain regular, open communication with families and guardians
- Foster positive student relationships and a constructive, achievement-oriented classroom climate
- Participate in professional development, team meetings, and school community events
- Support students’ academic, social, and behavioral success
- Demonstrate exemplary organizational, communication, and classroom management skills
