Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Rhode Island RIDE certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree strongly preferred
- At least two years of relevant teaching experience preferred
- Prior school-based special education experience highly valued
- Bilingual educators encouraged to apply
- Must be fully compliant with all state and school requirements for special education services
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering targeted small-group and individualized instruction using rigorous, standards-based materials
- Collaborating with classroom teachers to support effective inclusion
- Providing accommodations, in-class support, and implementing student IEPs/504 plans
- Monitoring, documenting, and reporting student progress
- Leading and participating in IEP meetings, and maintaining strong communication with families
- Developing positive relationships with students, families, and school staff
- Fostering an achievement-oriented, supportive classroom climate
- Actively participating in professional development, staff meetings, and broader school activities
