Special Education Teacher in Providence, RI

Qualifications & Credentials:
- Active Rhode Island RIDE certification as a Special Education Teacher required
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field; master’s degree strongly preferred
- Minimum two years of relevant teaching experience (school-based special education experience highly valued)
- Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply
- Must fulfill all state and school requirements for providing special education services
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and small-group support using rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum
- Provide accommodations and instructional support both in classrooms and pull-out settings
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and plans
- Organize and participate in IEP meetings and progress reviews
- Collaborate and co-plan with general education teachers and staff
- Monitor and document student progress, adapting strategies as needed
- Maintain regular communication with families, building strong relationships
- Support students academically, socially, and behaviorally
- Uphold effective classroom management practices
- Participate actively in professional development, workshops, and community events
