Qualifications & Experience:
- Must possess a valid Michigan Teacher Certificate with Learning Disabilities, Emotional Impairment (EI), Cognitively Impaired (CI), or MDE ZA (Early Childhood) and an additional Special Education endorsement.
- Strong understanding of (MARSE) Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education and federal IDEA regulations.
- Commitment to supporting urban youth and knowledge of resources for diverse learners.
- Prior experience in self-contained or resource classrooms highly desirable.
- Official university transcripts required.
Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering individualized instruction to students with cognitive or emotional impairments or learning disabilities.
- Maintaining detailed educational plans (IEPs), collaborating with paraprofessionals, behavior specialists, and special education teams.
- Fostering an inclusive classroom environment and engaging in ongoing academic and behavioral support.
