Key Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota teaching license with certification in Special Education (any area) and General Education Elementary
- Experience or strong interest in working with students with cognitive impairments or OHD disabilities
- Ability to collaborate with families and adapt lesson plans to meet individualized learning goals
- Compassion, adaptability, and commitment to inclusive education principles
- Candidates with both SPED and General Ed credentials highly preferred
What You’ll Do:
- Provide instruction to a homebound 1st-grade student approximately 10 hours per week (1 hour per day in each discipline; candidates certified in both roles will cover all 10 hours)
- Develop individual lesson plans tailored to the student’s unique needs, focusing on academic and functional skills
- Offer instruction either during or after traditional school hours, based on mutual availability
- Track progress and communicate regularly with caregivers and school staff to ensure continuity of education and growth
- Contribute to a supportive educational experience in a safe, 1:1 setting
