Special Education Teacher | Hammond, Indiana

Qualifications & Skills:
- Valid Indiana Special Education Teacher Certification: Mild Intervention or Moderate/Severe
- Experience working with middle school populations preferred
- Strong collaboration skills for working with paraprofessionals and support staff
- Ability to create a structured, nurturing learning environment
- Effective communication and organizational abilities
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized instruction and support for students with emotional disabilities
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to students’ unique needs
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, administrators, and families to achieve student goals
- Track progress through ongoing assessments and reporting
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student growth and self-advocacy
