Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Current certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience working with students who have significant medical needs is strongly preferred
- Ability to deliver engaging, individualized instruction in a non-traditional setting
- Compassionate, patient, and sensitive to the unique social-emotional and medical needs of young children
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with healthcare staff and family members
- Flexibility and adaptability to adjust lesson plans as required
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 instruction for a 7-year-old student in a nursing home environment for 2-3 hours per day
- Develop and implement customized educational plans aligned with the student’s abilities, IEP goals, and medical considerations
- Monitor progress, document achievements, and collaborate with healthcare providers and family
- Create a supportive, stimulating environment that encourages the student’s participation and love for learning
- Ensure all instructional activities comply with applicable guidelines for medically fragile children
