Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching credential with a focus on Special Education (SPED).
- Experience working with elementary-aged children, particularly in grades 2-5.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs.
- Strong collaboration skills with classroom teachers, support staff, and families.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and manage a diverse caseload.
- Resourcefulness and a commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment.
- Familiarity with intervention strategies for struggling learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the dedicated Special Education Teacher for approximately eight students with IEPs.
- Support up to 10 additional students requiring targeted academic interventions.
- Develop and adapt instructional materials to best meet varied student needs.
- Conduct ongoing assessments, track student progress, and maintain thorough documentation.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify curriculum and ensure accommodations.
- Lead or participate in IEP meetings, facilitating teamwork between staff and families.
- Foster a nurturing, encouraging classroom atmosphere that empowers all learners.
