Make a meaningful impact supporting middle school students as a Special Education professional working with grades 7 and 8 near Mesa, AZ. This contracted opportunity focuses on delivering specialized instruction and support to a caseload of approximately 24 students, utilizing both push-in and pull-out service models.
You’ll spend part of your day providing targeted instruction in small group settings outside of the general education classroom, while also collaborating with teachers and supporting students within the general education environment. This balanced approach ensures students receive the individualized assistance they need, while remaining integrated within their school community.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching certification or relevant licensure for Special Education (or active progress toward certification)
- Successful experience working as a Special Education Teacher or Paraprofessional, especially in a middle school setting
- Understanding of push-in/pull-out support models and experience co-teaching or collaborating with general education staff
- Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 24 students with diverse learning needs
- Proficiency developing and implementing IEPs, and a strong commitment to regular IEP and MET meeting attendance
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction and interventions to small groups in a resource setting and in-class support within general education classrooms
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on individual needs
- Prepare materials, modify curriculum, and foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
- Participate actively in IEP/MET meetings, maintaining accurate and detailed documentation
- Engage with staff and families to support students’ academic and behavioral growth
