Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Certification or experience as a Special Education Teacher, or background as a Paraprofessional in educational settings
- Knowledge of instructional strategies for students with varied abilities
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers and families
- Flexibility and adaptability in supporting students throughout the school day
- Experience working with middle school populations preferred
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted instruction and interventions to small groups outside the general education classroom
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support students within inclusive settings
- Develop and implement individualized education strategies tailored to each student’s needs
- Document progress and participate in IEP/MET meetings as required
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment for all students
- Report on student achievements and maintain compliant documentation
Position Details:
- Support 7th and 8th-grade students in a blend of general and special education classrooms
- School hours: 7:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., with additional time for staff responsibilities before and after the instructional day
- Active involvement in meetings and collaboration efforts to ensure the best outcomes for students
