Step into a rewarding role supporting students in a specialized classroom setting for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to work closely with a small group of students who have Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a Setting 3 environment. With just one building to focus on, you'll have the chance to create strong connections and meaningful impacts.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching license with ASD or DCD endorsement (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required)
- Previous experience working with students with DCD and/or ASD highly preferred
- Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Passion for fostering growth in diverse learning environments
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, individualized instruction tailored to the needs of students with DCD or ASD
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Employ evidence-based teaching strategies to promote academic and social-emotional growth
- Adapt curriculum materials and classroom environment to support diverse learning abilities
- Monitor and assess student progress to ensure goals are being met
- Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging confidence and independence
- Collaborate with support staff and related service providers within the building
This position begins August 31, 2026, and runs through June 4, 2027, with a weekly commitment of 37.5 hours. The caseload consists of approximately 6-10 students, allowing for focused and impactful teaching.
