These positions serve multiple specialized programs located across Lehigh and Carbon Counties, with assignments beginning August 10, 2026, and concluding June 11, 2027 (following the local school calendar). Contract roles are available in Autism Support, Multiple Disabilities Support, and Emotional Support classroom settings. All opportunities require candidates to reside within a 35-minute commute of the school site.
Qualifications:
- Active Pennsylvania Special Education certification (required/preferred per assignment)
- Classroom teaching experience in special education settings
- Demonstrated skill in developing and implementing IEP goals
- Effective classroom management and instructional delivery
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
- Preferred backgrounds include Autism Support, Multiple Disabilities Support, Emotional Support, Behavioral Health, or specialized school/IU experience
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and ongoing classroom management tailored to assigned program needs
- Implement evidence-based interventions and support plans for students with autism, multiple disabilities, or emotional/behavioral challenges
- Develop, monitor, and document progress toward IEP goals
- Partner closely with paraprofessionals, related service staff, and families to create positive, supportive learning environments
- Foster communication, sensory, and regulation skills as appropriate to assignment
- Employ trauma-informed practices, de-escalation, and behavioral interventions when necessary
This contract opportunity provides a consistent school-day schedule (approximately 7:00 AM–3:30 PM depending on location). Candidates must provide supporting credentials, location/position preference, and a completed reference check with their application.
