What We’re Seeking:
- Pennsylvania Special Education certification (required/preferred depending on assignment)
- Demonstrated experience teaching in special education settings
- Competency in developing and implementing IEP goals
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills
- Comfort working with diverse learners with varying academic, behavioral, and developmental needs
- Effective collaboration with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
Preferred Experience:
- Autism Support: ABA-informed interventions, AAC/visual supports, sensory strategies, and behavior intervention planning
- Multiple Disabilities Support: Adapted curriculum, communication and life skills development, personal care support, and experience addressing significant or complex needs
- Emotional Support: Trauma-informed practices, de-escalation, emotional regulation, and behavior management in support classrooms
- Experience working in intermediate unit or specialized school settings
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized instruction in specialized classroom settings
- Implement evidence-based strategies tailored to student needs
- Manage classroom environments, supporting both academic and behavioral growth
- Document progress and maintain compliance with IEPs
- Collaborate closely with teams and engage with families
- Contribute to a positive, supportive learning environment
Assignments begin August 10, 2026, and conclude June 11, 2027 (tentative, follows school calendar). Candidates must reside within a 35-minute commute of placement sites.
