Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current Pennsylvania Special Education certification (required for most assignments)
- Classroom teaching experience in special education settings
- Strong background developing and implementing IEP goals
- Advanced classroom management skills and a collaborative spirit
- Evidence-based intervention experience, especially regarding autism, multiple disabilities, or emotional support
- Experience or knowledge in ABA, sensory regulation, communication supports, and trauma-informed practice is highly valued
- Adaptable, compassionate, and able to work with a multidisciplinary team
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction and adapt curriculum to promote inclusion and maximize growth for students with unique learning profiles
- Implement individualized education plans and collaborate with paraprofessionals, support providers, and families
- Maintain positive, structured, and supportive classrooms, applying appropriate behavior and crisis prevention strategies as needed
- Engage in continual communication with school teams to ensure student needs are met
- Foster life skills development, social/emotional growth, and communication
These assignments require candidates to reside within a 35-minute commute of their designated school/program site. Candidates must submit proof of active licensure and a completed SPED reference check.
