Key Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Previous experience working with K-12 students requiring specialized instruction
- Comfortable adapting curriculum and instructional approaches to meet one-on-one learning needs
- Familiarity with supporting children who are medically fragile or have complex care needs is preferred
- Ability to build positive rapport and communicate effectively with students, families, and collaborative care teams
- Strong organizational skills and patience
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to a single student for 2-3 hours per day, tailoring lessons to match IEP goals and cognitive abilities
- Collaborate with nursing home staff and related specialists to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment
- Monitor the student’s progress, adapting instructional methods as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation of attendance, lesson plans, and academic progress
- Communicate regularly with the student’s guardians and the wider educational team to foster alignment and support
