Grades 6 - 8 Special Education Teacher in Philadelphia, PA

Make an impact as a Special Education Teacher working with middle school students in a dynamic resource setting near Philadelphia. This contract opportunity spans the academic year, from August 17 through June 11, with a consistent Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 3:45 pm. Support 6th to 8th grade learners through individualized instruction and targeted interventions in both push-in and pull-out small group settings.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Instructional I or II Pennsylvania K-12 Special Education Certification (emergency certifications not accepted)
- Experience writing and implementing IEPs, monitoring student progress, and providing differentiated instruction
- Strong commitment to fostering student growth and creating an inclusive learning environment
- Proven ability to collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families
- Middle school teaching experience preferred
Responsibilities:
- Manage caseload for 6th-8th grade students, ensuring compliance with IEP requirements and all documentation
- Plan and deliver instruction for small groups, using both push-in and pull-out resource model
- Conduct regular progress monitoring and make data-driven instructional adjustments
- Coordinate with teachers and support staff to modify curriculum and address individual student needs
- Articulate clear, productive communication with families and guardians regarding goals and progress
- Maintain accurate, timely records and contribute to team meetings as needed
