Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience working in mod/severe special education classrooms strongly preferred
- Familiarity with supporting medically fragile students
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Ability to supervise and collaborate with classroom assistants
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored instruction and support to a class of approximately 7 students with moderate to severe needs
- Manage and collaborate with a team of 3 classroom assistants to ensure the highest standard of care
- Design and adapt lesson plans to meet individual student goals and accommodations
- Monitor, document, and communicate student progress with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Ensure a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for medically fragile students
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and related service providers to support students’ unique needs
