Special Education Teacher - Raymond, CA
Step into a rewarding contract position supporting K-12 students in a self-contained special education classroom, focusing on those who qualify under Emotional Disability. Based in the Raymond, CA area, this role begins in August 2026 and continues through June 2027. Split between elementary (K-6) students on a main campus and secondary (7-12) students at a non-comprehensive site, you will play a pivotal role in fostering growth, emotional wellbeing, and academic progress.
Qualifications:
- Valid California Special Education Teaching License required
- Proven experience teaching students qualifying under Emotional Disability, ideally across K-12 age groups
- Comfortable leading self-contained classrooms and adapting instruction for varied learning and behavioral needs
- Skilled in conducting assessments, writing and facilitating IEPs, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong background in social-emotional learning, with the ability to support students’ behavioral and emotional development
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction supporting both academic and emotional needs in a self-contained setting for elementary and secondary students
- Complete comprehensive assessments and maintain up-to-date IEP documentation
- Facilitate and participate in IEP meetings, collaborating closely with families and professionals
- Implement individualized behavior plans and support systems within the classroom
- Create a safe, structured, and empathetic environment to nurture students’ potential
