Special Education Teacher | San Francisco, California

Set within the vibrant area of South San Francisco, this full-time contract position offers the opportunity to directly support middle school students as a Special Education professional in a dynamic, collaborative educational setting.
As a valued member of the SPED discipline, your primary caseload will focus on middle school learners with mild to moderate needs. You’ll have the rewarding responsibility of teaching four sections of Specialized Academic Instruction (SAI) for 6th grade writing and English Language Arts, as well as one section of Resource Specialist Program (RSP) support. The caseload currently includes 27 inspiring students, offering both variety and the chance to form strong connections over the academic year.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active California mild/moderate Special Education teaching credential (required)
- Prior experience with middle school-aged students preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Collaborative approach with teachers, support staff, and families
- Dedication to fostering academic and personal growth for all students
Responsibilities Include:
- Designing and implementing engaging SAI lessons in writing and ELA
- Delivering targeted RSP support to meet individualized education plan (IEP) goals
- Creating and adapting instructional materials to various learning styles and needs
- Monitoring student progress, maintaining accurate documentation, and communicating updates with IEP teams
- Collaborating to cultivate an inclusive and supportive learning environment
