Step into a rewarding contract opportunity for the 2026–2027 school year, supporting students in a Setting 3 classroom specifically designed for those with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). You’ll play a vital role in creating an inclusive, nurturing environment for approximately 6–10 students while working at a single campus. This full-time position offers the chance to make a real difference in special education while building meaningful relationships with students and staff.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Minnesota teaching license with Tier 3 or Tier 4 status, endorsed for ASD or DCD
- Previous experience teaching students with ASD and/or DCD preferred
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral interventions
- Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills
- Ability to provide creative, adaptable instruction to meet a diverse range of learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to individual student needs
- Develop and monitor IEP goals, working closely with related service providers and families
- Foster a positive, structured classroom atmosphere that encourages student success and independence
- Utilize evidence-based strategies for instruction and behavior management
- Maintain clear documentation and progress reports in compliance with school and district policies
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and communication with parents and stakeholders
This contract role runs from August 31, 2026, through June 4, 2027, with a consistent full-time schedule of 37.5 hours weekly. Your expertise and compassion will help shape the educational experience for students who need it most.
